exact dollar amount that is tax deductible as a charitable donation. The IRS does allow the donor to leave it up to their discretion as to the amount of the charitable deduction. The donor's CPA will require that documentation when preparing their tax return.
Without that documention, it would be like letting the inmates to run the asylum. It does not matter how large or small the dollar amount.
When I purchase a $150 a plate ticket to a charitable organization's dinner event, the organization sends me a letter documenting the exact dollar amount allowed as a charitable deduction. There are no exceptions. Period.
Of course, all of you notaries on the charity ball circuit already know this information.
