If that was done, we'd lose decades of historical data that could never be replaced, but can still be useful, even if it's not the most current. There's nothing to stop us from adding current info to what's there. When evaluating the information there, we should all keep in mind that the most recent info will likely be the most accurate, but long term info shows trends.

A long term trend of bad behavior is probably not going to suddenly become good. An exception might be a change in ownership, but we know to proceed with caution in those situations. Sadly, we've also seen many times when a long positive history has suddenly turned south when a company runs into financial troubles, sometimes when the market slows. When this boom is over (and we're already seeing signs of interest rates going up), we'll need to watch this very, very carefully.
