Medaling at Dipsea! Wow! That is fantastic!!! Color me impressed! :-)
Cool race video too, that runner was bookin’! You really feel his speed going downhill. Great to see the course too, thanks!
That’s how I got into my mt. bike accident, going super-fast downhill. I was a hotdog, loved stump-jumping, catching-air while going downhill. Spun-out on a downhill turn, handlebars crashed into my ribs, breaking them and collapsing my lung. Ouch. So, now they’re working on collapsible handlebars. Just like downhill skiing (which I used to do as well) – before bindings were quick release. Now, all ski bindings are quick release.
Yeah, I can see how a Women’s Realtor group would be unimpressed with a story about a race that excluded their entry (at that time) ! :-)
I grew-up with 3 brothers and a sister, and we all enjoyed participating in physical activities together. When I was very small, my favorite toys were building blocks and Tonka Trucks (especially the dump-truck!). So, when I entered Kindergarten, and wasn’t allowed to play with blocks and trucks, I quietly rounded-up all of the dolls from the “girls section,” put them into a baby carriage, and hauled them across the floor and dumped them into the “boys section.” My Mother, who had just started her first-year teaching at the school, was mortified. To this day, I still remember that feeling, of dumping those dolls! :-) It felt so good! Maybe the Women’s Realtor group would appreciate that story! :-)
