And I think it was You (in the not too ancient past) reminding that there are Few Absolutes; so when I see words like, "ALL," "ANY," and "MUST" . . . I cringe a bit - especially without validation. Them's fightin' words, as they say!
Recalling the "handling funds" topic in VA: Yes, contextually (and technically) we know the concern is that a notary not act in capacity of a Title Agent (or accept liability for any monies in our care) . . . BUT, there was plenty of discussion about what it meant until it was cleared up for good (no dispute) with OFFICIAL verification. Until that time, many of us "played it safe," anticipating what was coming; but it would have been premature (presumptuous even) to insist that NO Closing Funds be Collected unless licensed, without the final word from our Bureau of Insurance.
