You can do all of that, but bottom line is the title company paid the SS. They wash their hands of it. It is up to you and the SS at this point, nobody else is responsible for paying you as an independent. That being said, I would still try and send a good, professional letter out to everyone involved, except the borrowers. You always leave them out of it You need all the information, loan number and all of that. If they are in the same state, it is pretty easy to file a small claims case against them. Out of state, not worth the time and money involved...moves to a tax write off.
