Check out Signing Central (tab above). It's a list of hundreds of companies that hire notaries, rated by other notaries here who have worked for them. You can sort them by rating, so I recommend skipping any with 2 stars or below - and proceeding with caution with those with only 3 or 3.5 stars. Then you can go through one by one and apply to companies directly. Not all of them use platforms. The better ones have their own data base, but they also probably already have a long list of notaries they've used in the past, depending on where you're located. But things change over time, including other notaries leaving the business, being on vacation, already booked, etc. So as is frequently said here, market, market, market! it takes work to find work.
We're likely at the beginning of a slowdown that may last for some time, so this is where the rubber meets the road for those who survive. Some will, but most probably won't. The latter will likely include those who sit around waiting for people to contact them...
