Jan, FYI, I've sometimes seen the Advance Health Care Directives referred to as POAs for Healthcare, so it's possible you and the OP are talking about the same thing.

Angela, it sounds to me like you've done everything possible - and perhaps more than you should have been expected to do. If you've given them a copy of the regulation proving what you said, I don't know what else you can do. I'd think it should be the signer's responsibility (or their family member or caretaker, etc.), not yours, to schedule that. You know what you can or can't do about notarizing without an Ombudsman there, so I recommend you trust your judgment and stick to your guns.
