Why don't you two take the lead and post what you make first? Why not throw that question out there to a "seasoned" notary? Nope, because you both know darn well it's wrong, and will tell you to get lost, make you both look unprofessional and snooping. That's why. We all know what is being offered, do you think she is being offered something different? Maybe being even lower because of lack of experience...is that what you are hoping to find out? What other profession do you two find yourself so brazen to ask that on a forum when you yourselves know the answers, but just want to make her feel inadequate? Because as we have seen here before, she may toss out a fee and then someone will say they accepted one for $100 more. That's how it plays on here to squash people. What's YOUR break-even fee? Do you live in the same neighborhood? Do you run the same equipment? Do you travel the same distance? Do you use the same cars? Have the same dependents to feed? Did you take a course? Which One? How much? What did they promise? OMG alright already.
Taking advantage of someone starting out and asking what she is making, accepting or not is just offensive and in for a whole lot of criticism and arrows pointing in her direction. No wonder most newbies ghost out, some on here are insatiable and then justify why it's okay to get personal, lol. This is out there forever, her new name on the line, why?? Go back and change some toner and paper and worry about your own paycheck.
Good luck Megan! Nobody has to put their income and personal info out there for no reason.
