Possibly. Even companies who send out and have their 1099's done for them send them out personally to their clients in the mail or online. As far as I can tell SD has no affiliation with Stripe. I received a similar notification email about a month prior to signing up with them. Too many scams for me, especially when conditional information is involved. There is also no mention on your homepage about this in the mail area or notification area. Bottom line is, Stripe or no Stripe, SD has to send you your tax information personally, and I don't see how they can force anyone into signing up with a 3rd party after the fact. When there is a data breach, who is going to remember this little detail about having to sign up for a 1099?
