I agree that most states are not set up for the amount of absentee ballots that will be coming in; they need to ramp up their efforts, and they need federal help to do that. The feds are not going to help; - Trump has made that abundantly clear.
I think in most cases, absentee ballots are read electronically (I know they are here in TX), so miscounts are not really an issue. Volume is an issue, however - votes are not going to be counted quickly, and it could be days before we get results from some areas. We've become used to getting final results the same evening, but that's not gonna happen this year.
As for why Dems are pushing it so hard - they want as many people as possible to be able to vote safely. That's really what it all comes down to. Resisting it amounts to voter suppression - let's reduce the number of voters by forcing them to vote in person..So the question becomes, do you want to make it easier or harder for people to vote? |
