On the first page of the application to be a Notary for them are two miscellaneous questions in addition to what you'd expect: Will you be able to prepare the customer for a quality control survey on behalf of the business sending the documents? *
Will you be able to ask client to complete a 5 star social media review on behalf of the business sending the documents? *
On the second page are these Terms and Conditions: By clicking on the “submit” button, you agree with the following disclaimer and acknowledgement: Link Signings (“Link”) is a dba of Broker Pros, Inc. Link, is an intermediary who has arranged for the “seller-dealer” a notary to handle and witness the signing of sales documents and collect the purchase monies for sales of vehicles off lot and/or via the internet. Link is not a party to the sale or the signing. Link’s sole involvement in the transaction is to arrange for the seller-dealer’s hiring of a notary to assist and witness the signing of automobile sales/lease documents and contracts off lot. Link Signings disclaims any involvement in the notarizing of the sales/lease documents, is not liable for the transaction, and is not responsible for any transaction that either does not consummate or fund after the hiring of the notary. Moreover, as a notary, I agree to use the checklist provided by Link and to conduct the signing in compliance with the dealer’s request(s)/instructions. I understand and agree that failure to adhere to the checklist or dealer request(s)/instructions may result in non-payment.
That means that the dealer will (supposedly) pay the Notary, not Link Signings! It also says that the dealer can NOT pay the Notary for any reason or no reason.
IMHO, you're crazy to sign up and accept those Terms and Conditions. Your mileage may vary. |
