I think the distance depends on where you are. If I still lived in the SFV of Los Angeles... then 15 miles of travel would never fly for $40. That could take 30-40 minutes of driving each way. No way would I do that unless I was in the area for something else.

But where I live now? 15 miles of driving? That's the same as going to the grocery store... and with wide open rural roads, that's nothing.
