Re: NR faxing question

I have had files fail to go through that were grey scale and contained around 30 pages; the size of the files was rather large (several megabytes). Since then I have found a method to make the files purely black or white, with no shades of grey. This makes it easier to be sure the recipient will see what I want them to see, and dramatically reduces the size of the file (by about a factor of 5).

I won't try to explain exactly how I did it, because I used a rather obscure program called Gimp, which isn't easy to use. But you could probably find an equivalent capability in Photoshop or Adobe Acrobat, if you have either of those.
