There is no stop payment on this check because it's worthless, you are mistaken and read what I wrote incorrectly.
So to re-write a check, you think that warrants $10. Oddly, you are in the minority on that one.
But looking at the bigger picture...if your mortgage company never received your check...would you deduct $10 from the second one you send them?
If a doctor's office never received payment for a bill, would you deduct $10 from that check?
Of course you won't dare deduct $10.
Why would you do it in this case? Because you think you can get away with it!
Notaries need to expect better professional treatment for the very professional service they provide. Just think of it.....BIG companies are letting everything ride on a notary getting the loan signed.....from that the lender makes hundreds of thousands, escrow/broker/title makes thousands, and signing folks make hundreds, while the notary gets the least.
The bottom line to me is...it's petty, shows poor business integrity (she got to benefit from an extra $100 for a period of time), clearly she would have seen $100 extra each month and could have asked the receiver about it, I spent $6.54 sending the original check back via tracking USPS and I didn't charge LOL
I can't imagine why you would justify that behavior. All for a stamp and an envelope? Time? How long does that take? How pitifully petty. I rest my case as to why I would never do a loan signing again. |
