I use the term "closing" because people understand a "closing" vs a "Signing". I use it in the context of the entire procedure. My role is a Signing Agent representing the title company, however I have had a few people wonder what a signing is or if it's for athletes even. "I am here to conduct your signing" confuses them, and then have to tell them I am an NSA yada, yada. I am not their closer as at the title company who reviews the documents, however people understand when they buy a house they are "closing" on a house, not "signing" a house. That's why I generally say it that way. Hope that makes sense. |
