transactions within the state (for property in that state or not) must be handled by an attorney. Back in the day, most states were attorney only. NSA's can now handle signings (not really closings) because we're working through a tc anyway. We're not handling the settlements. I wouldn't risk the liability of thinking they can do signings for properties that aren't in GA. I've done a few signings for properties in GA, for example, & an attorney was assigned & available during the signing. Most only say "call me if you need me". They're paid a fee that exceeds mine, I'm sure, but the legalities are covered. |
