and pen. I am escorted by a sheriff wearing a bullet proof vest and armed to the nines, after they see my drivers license and run a scan on it. I'm good to go, been there, done that so many times, I'm a known quantity at the sheriff's quad.
No one smiles very much. I'm under scrutiny 100% of the time. The vestibule has bullet proof glass window reinforced with thick gauge wire, with a phone to communicate with the inmate and there can be no physical contact...just like in the movies...
Jail is tremendously overloaded. Do the crime, if you've got bail, you're out in no time, moved on out for the next law breaking citizen.
