Re our colleague's well-known 3-hour signings: It might not be a matter of not knowing how to conduct a simple 25-30 minute signing. What's going on is clearly a matter of torturing the helpless signers in order to feed the NSA's starving ego. We hear of these NSAs occasionally. They may not be getting the attention in life they think they deserve and see a signing as the perfect opportunity to get those hormones pumped up over the prospect of finally showing somebody who's the boss ... all the while watching the poor borrowers squirm and sigh, wishing they had a round of Xanax to get them through things until the idiot NSA finally leaves. I, too, have been victimized by these type notaries. Respect and professionalism are two qualities that are simply not a priority. It's not about fulfilling the borrowers' wants and needs. It's the perfect venue/trap to fulfill theirs. Where else can you so easily grandstand and show off what an important person you are and control others while doing nothing to help the people you are there to serve? Well, maybe Capitol Hill. Anymore said, I'll have to go to JP. |
