Unfortunate that some, but not all trickle that cost down upon us... the SS has to pay a $15.00 fee for each closing that goes through...it's up to that company if they pass that cost to you, take it off their end, or try to get it from the title company. Instead of each SS developing and maintaining their own platform, they use theirs and more cost effective for them. Take offense to that SS who passes the charge downward instead of upwards (not all do this), you can't blame the platform for how they make their money, it's actually a good business decision on SD end and continuously generates money everyday instead of a one time fee and sell a program. As a business model, it's genius, but up to us to run our own business the way we feel fit and accept it, or stick to a fee that works or us.
What are we gong to do with Pavaso closings? We need a touch screen laptop and all the other bells and whistles...are we going to divide that cost and pass that back to them? It can go both ways...the way I see it , an average closing is $100.00, if they want this new technology and we have to invest in new equipment, then the fee needs to be adjusted to $115.00+ until we recoup the costs. This is no different. If they can do it to us, we need to be brazen and dish it out as well. We sail our own ships...the problem is this profession has way to many captains and not enough vessels to go around. Do we compromise to continue working, or do we dig our heels in and be stubborn? Do they really care what we do, when there is a line of 20+ NSA's right behind us willing to sail that ship at any cost to them? |
