There appears to be some confusion regarding forum objective

From the Notary Rotary Forum Rules & Guidelines:

“It was created to allow professional notaries public to share experiences, advice and opinions with other members of the profession.”

It’s not a matter of like or dislike what an individual may choose to post. The recent scenario of “bash a company's reputation” boldly begs the question:

Is it within the established structure adhering to and honoring Rules & Guidelines created by the forum Owners?

“ . . . be prepared to provide concrete and substantial proof of your allegation.”

In this instance, neither confirmation nor “concrete and substantial proof” of said allegation was provided.

If it was your company being bashed, it’s certain you’d expect that at a minimum.

Members possessing merely a modicum of decorum regularly resist temptation and choose not to engage in some of the antics that we’ve observed and been abused by over the years.

We all know that anyone can state anything online. Some readers will perform due diligence and others, not so much . . . As such, a self-test ensuring the statement can be substantiated needs to be in-place PRIOR to posting.

We owe it to one another to hold ourselves to at least a minimum standard of truthfulness and authenticity.

Clearly, there are a few individuals who have long been thumbing their noses at not only hundreds of professional members who HONOR and ABIDE by the established NR Forum Rules & Guidelines, but also directly at the Owners of the NR Forum who created those Rules & Guidelines in order to establish and to maintain a peaceful, helpful, and supportive forum.

The NR Forum is designed to support ALL from ALL states and not to be ruled over by a few self-selected individuals.

Long-gone is the time of goading, bullying, shaming, engaging in name-calling, judging, degrading, stating falsehoods, speaking condescendingly, prevaricating, devising untruthful accusations, making personal attacks, and in general, initiating and repeatedly engaging in poor social behavior.

The ROGUE repeat offenders engaging in such activities have created a hostile environment and resulted in the loss of many incisive contributors over the years. It’s a been a great loss.

We are all adults and shouldn’t need “Reminders;” however, some individuals seem to either forget the published NR Forum Rules & Guidelines and DO NEED a Reminder or are choosing to IGNORE the published NR Forum Rules & Guidelines.

Regardless of the case, EACH member is responsible for what we choose to post and to ENSURE that it remains within the boundaries of the published NR Forum Rules & Guidelines.

Excerpt from Notary Talk Forum Rules and Guidelines
“. . . all users govern themselves in accordance with common standards of decency and professionalism. We are not responsible for the opinions of others nor do we condone or support unfounded accusations, personal attacks or other generally bad behavior.”

II. Netiquette

1. Do not TYPE IN ALL CAPS. THIS IS CONSIDERED SHOUTING and has been proven more difficult to read than Mixed Case.
2. Please check your message for spelling and grammar errors before posting. Generally, you should write long messages in an application like Microsoft Word and then copy them from there into our message box.
3. Please keep off-topic posts to a minimum and avoid topics that others may consider offensive, such as politics and religion. Under no circumstance should the forum be used to further a political, ideological or religious agenda; these topics have nothing to do with the inherent neutrality of notarial functions and our board is therefore not an appropriate venue for them.
4. Do not personally attack, insult or degrade other users or companies. If you are going to bash a company's reputation, be prepared to provide concrete and substantial proof of your allegation. If you are going to confront another user or dispute a post, do so on a rational and constructive basis with the facts in hand. Debate is always healthy.
