Re: Always know your surroundings

I always let at least 2 people know where I was going to be — address, phone and BOs name; I always told them an approximate time I would call when signing was finished, and if I had not called, to call me.

I never parked in a driveway, but always the street. I never carried my purse into BOs house. I carried a hard sided brief case and never removed docs until sitting at signing table. Brief case could be used for my safety, if needed. I always had my cell phone in my pocket, and always carried my keys in one hand with attached mace. Once inside, I quickly took in the layout looking for exits besides the entryway I had just used. Phone stayed in my pocket and keys stayed in my lap.

I don’t believe I would have proceeded when being told Mr. BO was not there. I was afraid you were going to say the other 20 something males surrounded you — glad that didn’t happen. Once in the car and him not allowing you to close the door, I would have hit the panic on the key fob. I understand many people don’t pay much attention to car alarms, but all it would take is one curious neighbor. At the same time, I would have been pressing the mace towards his face — doing anything to get one up on him and allowing you to drive away.

We can never be too cautious
