Nationwide. Unified. Movement.
Notaries seem to be viewing this as a state-by-state issue. It's not. It's a national issue. As such, many notaries across the nation aren't going be compelled to donate to what essentially boils down to a CA issue. I understand that the CA fight has nationwide implications, but at the end of the day it still primarily affects CA notaries.
There needs to be a unified NATIONWIDE movement with a coalition of notaries from every state. A NATIONWIDE strategy for organizing effective resistance is required to mount an effective defense of our industry. Plain and simple.
That's not to say we should feel like we have no skin in the game with regards to the CA fight. Those people out in CA are our colleagues and friends. But, if everyone wants to protect our industry from the issues outlined in these threads, the action has be nationwide, concerted, with a unified strategy and a concrete set of goals. |
