I realize you were probably kidding, but it reminded me of something I recall hearing about it actually being illegal here to burn paper in a grill, fire pit or fireplace because of fire danger. To verify, I did some quick searching and found lots of different info, varying greatly from one place to another. Here's one tidbit I found from a list of materials that are toxic to burn, which would likely apply to everyone:
"Paper– As much as you may want the added security that comes from burning personal documents and sensitive paperwork this is prohibited. Burning paper causes too much unnecessary smoke, and since it is treated releases unhealthy chemicals into the air." |
