I am also a Real Estate Broker. The California Association of Realtors suggests that agent DO NOT allow buyers to write a note to the Seller about why they want to buy the home to avoid possible violations against fair housing laws.
As a Notary, I don't go into who the Buyer is because my job is to make sure they sign their documents correctly and to notarize the Deed that needs to be recorded or other documents the Title Company requires. If it turns out I know the other party on the documents, I don't disclose that because I am notarizing as an independent neutral party. |
