I am not sure if it is worth it... it is a lot of running around and as you say with gas prices as high as they are and are expected to be that is something I am going to try to calculate. I have another couple of gigs coming up I have an interview for a part time job on Monday. Right now I just hate sitting around doing nothing and I don't want to use up my savings. I too am older and will have a hard time getting a regular job. I look at it as these few bucks can pay for some essential things I need.
I am also a Realtor and have a listing that has been on the market over 60 days with no offers. We lowered the price 3 times so far. We listed the week rates went up. Add to that the home is on a T-intersection which is bad Feng Shui for most of the buyers in this particular area. I have to rethink everything... I don't need much money to pay my bills. I would love to get into preparing legal documents as a legal document preparer but I need a brush up course. I got my paralegal/legal assistant degree 22 years ago. I would love to do simple legal document preparation ... so you are correct and I think after gas, time and wear and tear on my vehicle it pays pennies but I can buy some items I need until and "if" my listing sells. I have received a couple of signings for next week but not enough. Its going to get worse before it gets better... rates set to go up again in September and we all know it trickles down to us. The R.E. market is at a standstill so there goes sales and purchases along with the ancient refinances...Prayers to all of us that relied on this work to actually live on.
