<<<I'm sure the legal assistant or the office manager (who in many cases is already a notary) who just lost their job could easily meet the physical requirements.>>>
I was surprised to learn (after talking to a few) that many who are Notaries only for their employer have no interest in an independent notary business since the only reason they got the commission is because it was required by their employer. Consequently, many let their commission expire when they leave the job that required the commission. I have a regular customer (I notarized her mom's signature on a POA) and she said she used to be a notary for her former employer and let her commission expire since the next job didn't require a commission. She used notary lingo that told me she probably did have a commission in the past. Many of these same people are only willing to notarize at the job and have no interest in doing so outside of their job. Interesting...... |
