Either you're making assumptions or you're putting words in his mouth. You said he mentioned 'first responders', not cops on the street. EMTs are an example of first responders who make sickening pay. I was shocked to learn how little they make, given that people's lives can be in their hands.
While it looks like the majority of first responders make considerably more than minimum wage, not all do. According to Zip recruiter, "the majority of First Responder salaries currently range between $27,000 (25th percentile) to $42,000" in the US, but 12% make less than $25K/year. |
