Not true. It wasn't available on HBO, it was available on their new streaming service HBO Max, and is expected to be available in a week after they add some commentary about its racist content.

And if you don't think there was racism involved, Hattie McDaniel won Best Supporting Actress in 1940, was only allowed to attend the ceremony as a favor to David O. Selznick, and had to sit at the back of the room at a private table with her white agent.

It's about time - that flag glorifies traitors, as do all the monuments to the Confederacy. They took up arms against the USA and killed thousands of American soldiers; why are we celebrating what they did? If you feel that this is a part of our history that has to be preserved, the proper place to preserve it is in a museum. |
