Sounds simple, huh? Yeah, right.
On Monday night, just before 8:00pm, I received a call from a Southern California attorney. Long short, I was hired for a Trust Signing that took place at a local hospital the next morning. The signer has a terminal illness and timing was of the essence.
Consequently, I received all the necessary information to see the assignment to completion. Unfortunately, I didn’t follow the client’s specific instructions afterwards for payment. It doesn’t matter why I didn’t. The fact remains is that I didn’t. As a result, I made the payment process much more complicated and exhausting than it should have been.
Moral of the story… Following your client’s instructions to the letter. Don’t add or subtract. IMJS.
