I know what you mean about your County Recorder! They'll even reject a personalized certificate where the appropriate pronoun is the only one shown, instead of showing the full "he/she/they" and circling the right one (even when box is complete...) Anymore, when I see one of those (usually on a document prepared by an attorney's office), I ask signers if there's a chance the document will ever get recorded in Sacramento County. Wink

BTW, is it possible the 'already recorded deeds' predate the implementation of the disclaimer box? That might explain some of them, but I doubt it would cover all, as I see that missing all too often myself. Clearly, not every notary is as conscientious as you are!
