I rely heavily, but not exclusively, on Signing Central here on this site. I try to also do a search on the forum here, in addition to looking at SC, since many notaries just put a comment here instead of SC. Sometimes no news is good news for signing services, especially if they've been in business a while, and nearly always if it's a direct client. I also like to ask lots of questions about who they are, payment policies, scope of work, how they operate, etc. If they try to dodge answering, that's a red flag. The longer we've been at this business, the easier it gets to recognize those signals...
There are also a few other sites (which it's against the site rules to name here) that have lists of feedback on unreliable companies, there's a Facebook group, and a Google search can sometimes yield useful info, too. Ultimately, there are no guarantees. |
