I did a seller signing Saturday afternoon for a man, 55 from Minnesota who called me direct. We signed in his open garage (masked, of course) on his newly purchased property in a perfect setting. Situated nicely, nestled among mature trees with an air of seclusion, yet houses all around. Moved here for work near Dulles and he's elated with his purchase. I could see why. The commute, though . . . well, too late for 2nd thoughts. Fauquier county a formidable hike - and yet walking IS probably faster during rush hour! He said he either has to leave at 6 or after 9:00 a.m. I know. I told him my dad did it for years. Early shift dock worker. Retired and now TIRED.
While down in the lovely country I paid him a visit. We sat out on the carport listening to woodpeckers and bird calls, while I ate late lunch (he saved what I brought for his dinner). He stayed masked. Only while eating was mine removed. Waved goodbye when leaving and told him we all missed him. Like he said, "What else can we do?"
Likely the seller plans on retiring here - if the commute, COVID or something coronary doesn't get him. He looked well. Told him I'm catching up to him. Meanwhile, Not taking any chances on what I CAN control.
