Lots of 'reasons': You're being paid to meet at his requested location. He doesn't want to deal with the ice & snow either...and he's not being paid to do so. He wants his business to remain private so a public place won't do. You did give him a choice (as you should) and he told you his choice. He wants to show off his marvelous home. Or, he's up to no good. Probably a thousand other reasons, too. However, I really don't believe anyone would go thru the refi process with an ulterior motive, do you?
