It’s not UPL to provide a list of places for callers to get forms: paralegal, attorney, download from web, Staples, Office Max, Legal Zoom. Never say you’re “only a notary public”....just tell callers that you don’t provide forms, then give them a list of places they can get them. CA notary law prohibits notaries from supplying forms - unless the notary happens to be an attorney. A paralegal in CA can draft forms, but cannot also notarize them. Only an attorney here can draft and notarize. If your state prohibits notaries from providing forms, you can tell callers that. Otherwise, it’s simply, “I do not provide forms, here’s a list of places to get them.” It’s now on the caller to choose the place to get the forms.
