It is a very sad situation. Looks like the son rose from some very caustic and volatile family dynamics. They once lived next door to each other. He didn't get along with his younger brothers who seem to be menacing and greedy. The son was contacted as a result of mother telling the social worker at the facility that she had a son in the Bay area. He has a family, he is a very successful tech guy. Time flies, is all I can say. She doesn't have a cell phone or landline, so that may be part of the communication problem.

None the less. he is now paying attention and helping his mother. I am sure by now that the home is in the process of being cleaned up and purged of years of stuff that should have been disposed of a long time ago. There is a non op car with flat tires in the driveway filled with newspapers. What, why, how? Crazy.

Moral of the story is we can't make judgments and assumptions based on one view. There are always more to the scene than meets the naked eye. Mom apparently didn't get out much.
