Thanks for posting this. What's significant for me is what's NOT included here (nor on the Brother specifications for this printer). Whenever you read specs on an HP printer, it includes what they refer to as the "duty cycle". I've seen several definitions, but here's one:

"The monthly duty cycle is the maximum number of pages a printer can print per month without breaking down. ... Going beyond your printer's monthly duty cycle may lead to worn out parts and eventually, shorten the lifespan of your printer".

IMO, that's the principle difference between a 'work group' printer vs. a standard small office or home printer. For example, the HP 4350, which many of us use, has a monthly duty cycle of 250,000 pages. I'd be surprised if many (or any?) Brother printers were designed to be able to routinely handle anywhere near that much volume.

The typical user probably doesn't print anywhere close to 1000 pages in a month, but it's not unusual for us to do that in a day. So I think this should be a significant consideration for us when printer shopping - unless we want to have to do it again in a few years...
