I saw that article online a few days ago and was mesmerized. I don't recall it from 2005 but find it fascinating now.
I didn't re-read it now but if I recall correctly … the notary was paid to backdate the vessel sale documents to the date of the murders. So, not only did she backdate, she did not meet with sellers/signers (as they were already dead) to check their ID, she did not get their thumbprint (as they were already dead and did not appear before her), they did not sign her journal …. Can we add any more misdeeds? After all that, notary was not penalized? Amazing!
