Age is a factor for most lucrative employment. What company wants to invest in a 60+-year-old when they can get a healthier college graduate, proficient in everything computer, with less medical issues and longevity in that company and a better fit? Sure we maybe have a college degree, from back in the days of typewriters and mimeograph machines, will that count? For many of us that ended up here, it wasn't what we started out to be, but a good fit for most of us.
I am not ready to give it up as it is something I enjoy and can see myself going into the golden years if it's still around and I make what I need to get by and live within my means. I maybe have to part-time it with something else in the future, but we shall see when that time comes. This career has and always be a roller coaster...you have to really save it when times are good, because we are now on that downhill slope for a while.
What can we do with little training?
Realtors
Apprasiors
Plumbers
Home Inspectors
Delivery
CDL driver
Insurance Agent
Vet Tech
Greeter
Options are out there...do you want to start over?
