 Loan signing 9/19/24
Posted by Julia McHale on 9/23/24 11:00am

Wanted to share this and get your comments. This was an out of state refi. Got to signing table and signer says his first name is spelled wrong. His lender advises him to sign his correct name, cross through the misspelling, print his correct first name and initial on all of the loan and title docs, and there were quite a few. Signer agreed to do that. Lender says they will address the issue in post-closing. Lender is going to assign the rights to another lender. I spent 16 years in escrow and title and never would a lender accept docs with cross throughs. Have times changed that much? Not to mention I had to amend each notary block to show state, county and correct first name spelling, and there were quite a few. Have a nice day!
