Oddly enough, the last attorney closing I did, he was unaware that he was to pay me directly, and thought it was the title company. My fee's were not on the CD, he didn't know anything about that or made sure he was covered for my fees.
I would deff. advise that since the attorney was your hiring party to ask him to get paid ASAP. They funded, no reason you need to wait 30 days. If he ignores you, a reminder that you will contact the State Board or Office of Lawyer Regulations will be in order to collect your funds, and you will be paid.
