It's not only realistic but, if we use recent precedent with things like social media as an example, inevitable. One company will get an edge, start buying out smaller start-ups made by people who just want to get that hot money, they will develop some feature that the industry becomes reliant on, and that will be it. Given the track record on governments with regards to big tech companies and their flagrant abuse of existing law to monopolize the markets, it's easy to guess the same thing will happen in this sphere. |
