Re: RIP Michael Coticchio, Southlake, TX passed September 2023

My condolences to Mike’s family, and to his friends here on the forum. He was an active poster on Work, JP and Leisure. I admired him and learned so much from him. Just the other day I reset my router, because he taught us the trick that if your devices are running sluggishly, then reset the router – helps kick-start things every time. I now regularly reset my laptop, thanks to Mike. Mike taught me about eggcorns, and now have them jokingly, lovingly, in my lexicon.

I have been missing him during his absence on NR, and like others was quietly hoping for the best, knowing that he was ill. He grew-up in Suffolk County, NY, where my husband is from, and also had an autoimmune disease, like my husband. He was whip smart, and was a fierce advocate for the truth. He stood up for human rights, and was strong in his convictions. I agreed with every single word he said in JP. He didn’t let things slide, and he would ask for credible sources for unsubstantiated statements. His intellect was unparalleled, and he used it well, standing up for gun control, women’s rights, and greater political awareness, among other things. He was a skilled thinker and didn’t back down. He was emotionally intelligent, and called-out immature behavior like deflection. He was a role-model. He was thoughtful, and loved and appreciated his family. The world is a better place to have had him in it. I’m sad that he is gone. He has left a mark.
