Safety Precaution (not to make light of)
Posted by NVLSlady/VA on 6/13/18 12:28pm

Can you please elaborate (if not too painful) HOW your safety was threatened?

["lived off the beaten path in the woods."] Why were you comfortable going there?*

"later discovered he is a registered sex offender." When was this??? Good for you bringing to company's attention - but I agree you're Safe after the fact.

"He threatened to give me a bad review ... and made good on the threat."
That could very well be the extent of his juvenile Machiavellian schemes.

["I didn't even KNOW there was a situation, until today"] You mean AFTER SS called?

So far seems you're braver than most and the worst is behind you. Sorry to hear of any further harassment; however, only a Real threat would call for anything more on your part. Then a "bad review" would be the least of your worries. Likely, he'll tire himself out.

*Note: I believe in taking reasonable precautions, so in this case having a male friend or family member Nearby would have made sense - as some of us have done. Of course, I was a single homeowner with painters, plumbers, professionals and all manner of service contract lone men... you name it ... in my home countless times over the years without an issue. But then I'm fairly sane/stable and wouldn't have dreamed of being a "threat" in any way to THEM while receiving their help. Only once (do I remember vividly) did I have cause to think: "Uh, this is not a good idea." But I was younger then Wink
