Ok, I understand how challenging it’s been for us to still be essential workers during the COVID pandemic. I rarely run across or hear about any other settlement agents in my area, but this news really disturbs me. I recently was asked to return to a borrowers home and correct documents that were not signed. The borrower told me a woman signing agent that came last time called her and said, “bring your ID to me in my car and then handed her the closings package through the window. She told the borrower to go inside and sign the paperwork and then leave it on the front steps. Now, I’m thinking 🤔, how did she acknowledge the signatures? No there weren’t camera’s. The agent then told the borrower “I’ll look through the window “. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? By the way you couldn’t see anything through the window but her dog. Honestly I have now returned to 3 other’s homes, hearing about the mysterious “ car closer”. |
