Message number 2 was a notary asking about out-of-state loans. And thus began the awesome, can't-live-without, invaluable responses from PAW! By the way, PAW, you responded with the 2005 witness requirements (which I know you've reposted in one form or another many times since), but you added at the bottom:

<< 3) Lenders may require witnesses, even though there is no state requirement.>>

Is that why on some deeds there are Witness signature lines? Which I always have ignored cos CA isn't a witness state (and never heard any complaints).
