It is scary that notaries are being let loose with no education requirement and no test. But even the states that do require classes and tests only cover notarial procedures, and don't delve into the documents we notarize. As far as the various state notary departments are concerned, there's no difference between a quit claim deed, a quick claim deed, and a recipe for pumpkin pie. If someone wants to sign one, and wants to acknowledge the signature, the notary can do it. |
