Thanks for all of the input. Their attorney called me yesterday and tried to coerce me into signing. He was very patronizing. I explained to him why I wouldn't sign. He explained to me that I could not work for them if I didn't. I basically said "oh, well." (Another part of the agreement stated that is the Witness Closer's responsibility to "Review the loan documents for errors or omissions......missing or incorrect dates, legal description attached to mortgage deed, missing Assignment of Deed of Trust/Mortgage, etc." Wait! What is etc.? I advised him that documents are supposed to be correct by the time we receive them. We catch what we can but it is not my job to make sure the documents are correct. Also "make a copy of the documents for the borrower (after the closing, preferably)" - Really?
