 don't trust 1099 for tax reporting

You will not get a 1099 from any customer for whom you received less then $600 during the year.
Trust your own accounting.
Check your total 1099 you received against your records. If total is less than your records, go by yours.
If total is higher, then either your total is wrong or you have one or more bad 1099s. Figure out which applies. If bad 1099, contact company for revised 1099.
