Time to cut the BS and small talk gossip and slap him with small claims court papers. It may run you about the same cost of what you are seeking, but would send a message and show him who's boss. Defamation is only when there is no truth behind it...SC has plenty who state non paymentin there. Nothing you said was a lie. Also copy all the other NSA's suckered in by this clown. Money and lawsuits speaks volumes...It's against the law to knowingly hire someone with intent of fraud for non paying. He broke a contractual agreement. Win win. Go for 10x the amount for punitive damages. They can only say no, but I feel this sends a message and the judge will make good and then some.
