I admit humidity is not a factor I often need to consider in the bay area. Yes, given the choice, one can see it would be an easy one. But if you're looking to get a printer for convenience and it isn't a factor, it somewhat defeats the purpose. (Although I am now picturing some sort of medical-type trolley you could set up to wheel into people's homes.)
